INNOVATIVE
APPROACH TO CHRISTMAS BONUSES
Physicians may want to consider
treating their office managers to a luxury retreat where they
will be pampered with massages and facials in a relaxing atmosphere
in addition to sharpening their management/leadership skills.
It's a win-win!! Office Managers will come away refreshed with
new perspective/insight. Physicians reap the benefits with improved
management and deeper loyalty of staff. For more information,

RAC
AUDITS
The
three-year demonstration recovery audits (RACs) began April 2005
in New York, California and Florida. The contractor hired to
audit Florida physicians is Health Data Insights, out of Las
Vegas, Nevada. These auditors will be paid based on a percentage
of their recovery.
Physicians are worried, as well they should be, about the "bounty
hunter" concept. Bottom Line encourages physician practices
to be pro-active and to develop voluntary Corporate Compliance
Plans, including Billing and Reimbursement Compliance. Implementing
a compliance plan may be a physician's best defense should an
audit reveal less than desirable results. For more information
and/or assistance with the development of your customized plan,
call Kris at 386-935-1141.

Receive Reimbursement For On-line
Consultations With New CPT Code!!
Effective July 1, 2004, CPT
Code 0074T will enable providers to bill for On-line Consultations.
It is to be used for evaluation and management service responses
and related phone calls, in addition to prescription renewal and laboratory
orders. The code may only
be used for established patient services and requires the provider
to store or print a hard copy of the on-line response for documentation
in the patient's medical record.
This is great news! In 1995, Codes 99371, 99372 and 99373 were
introduced to capture services for telephone management. It makes
sense that providers should be reimbursed for professional services
rendered on-line as well as the telephone. For more information
on the telephone management codes, see the article below. |
